ROCC joins Nomad –
the organisation at the centre of mobile and flexible working for local
government
May 31 2006
Nomad,
owned by Cambridgeshire County Council, is a former National Project set
up by the then Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. The Nomad remit is
to act in an advisory capacity to local government and the public sector
on all aspects of delivering mobile and flexible working solutions. As
one of the leading providers of mobile solutions for the local
government sector ROCC has engaged with Nomad as a Registered Supplier.
ROCC has mobile
solutions deployed at a number of local authorities and housing
associations.
These
deployments are either hosted mobile solutions (that involves no capital
expenditure just monthly operating costs) or traditional, server based
solutions. Solutions can either be ‘thick’ or ‘thin’ client and are
device independent.
The
deployment of mobile technology as a way of enabling a local authority
to make best use of front line staff is having a significant role to
play in driving the efficiency agenda. Mobile technologies have matured
over the last few years, and can provide robust, manageable and cost
effective solutions. Imaginative use of mobile technology not only
allows key professionals to spend more time from the office doing the
real job, but can open up new ways for individual staff members to work
across several traditional service boundaries.
Key
benefits of mobiles solutions include:
·
Real
time communication between office and operatives in the field
·
Faster
response times to urgent calls
·
Increases in calls completed in a day
·
Ability
to track unproductive activity
·
Update
back office systems in real time
·
No need
for keying of data from paper
An Adobe Solutions
Partner, member of the ORACLE partner network and Microsoft Gold
Partner, ROCC has an HQ in Brighton with offices throughout the UK.
